Maximising Alternative Fuel Use with the FUELFLEX® Pyrolyzer
Achieving 100% alternative fuel firing in the calciner is a key goal for many cement plants seeking to reduce emissions and improve fuel flexibility. As part of FLSmidth Cement’s broader portfolio of alternative fuel solutions, the FUELFLEX® Pyrolyzer has already proven its ability to help plants reach this target. This presentation will explore how a combination of technologies – including the FUELFLEX® Pyrolyzer, advanced process control, and precise fuel dosing – can optimise alternative fuel combustion while maintaining stable operation and emissions compliance

Lars Skaarup Jensen
R&D Specialist and Project Manager
Lars Skaarup Jensen works in FLSmidth Cement’s Green Innovation department as R&D Specialist and Project Manager. He has been with FLSmidth since 1996 where he joined to do his Industrial PhD (Chem Eng) on Low-NOx Calciners. Since then, he has worked for 29 years with pyro-processing, fuels, emissions, and innovation in the cement industry. Since 2017 Lars has been responsible for development of the FUELFLEX® Pyrolyzer with Mannok Cement and research on green cement technologies in collaboration with the Technical University of Denmark, Innovation Fund Denmark and collaboration partners.
